スナフキンにタバコをやめさせようとする人がいるという。子供の教育によくないそうだ。「パッケージのスナフキンのパイプを取って欲しい」ということを真剣にいってくる教育団体がいるらしい。


ふざけるな。


タバコを吸っている人は、こんな時代だから大変だ。タバコを吸うことが悪い事だなんて、僕は微塵も思わない。

吸わない人にとって煙や匂いが気になるのはわかるし、街の道路は灰皿じゃない。自分のもっていたゴミを平然と捨てるように、タバコだからといって捨ててはいけない。そんなこともわかっている。

どんなに体に悪いとされても、タバコを吸って何が悪い。僕は吸わないけれど、そして、上に書いたモラルは誰がどう考えても守らないといけない。タバコを吸うことで、飲食店のスタッフルームにあるユニフォームに匂いがついてお客様に不快な想いをさせそうなら、それは即刻、やめなくてはいけない。そんなこともわかっている。


どうかしてはいないだろうか。ずっと昔からタバコは吸われてきた。かっこいいとまで言われたこともあったし、どんなに肺が真っ黒になった写真をみせられても、誰よりも長生きしている喫煙者はたくさんいる。

いつから、そんなに細かい文句をいう人種になってしまったのだろうか。水道水を飲まなくなってからだろうか。男性化粧品がコンビニに並び始めたころからだろうか、人はいつからこんなにも人のすることが許せなくなってしまったのだろうか。
